Harita Mehta
Harita Mehta, our founder, was born in the city of Ludhiana, Punjab and brought up in Delhi. Her journey from being a wife of reputed officer, a mother of two children and a law graduate, took a radical turn due the infamous Nirbhaya case. She is now living her dream of transforming the society and progressing with each step. Her sheer grit and resolution, and the idea of fastening the entire law system at the granular level and giving justice to the victims keep her going. She instils confidence in all the individuals she comes across, empathises with their defenceless condition and handholds them through the entire process legally ensuring their safety and success.

Impact Stories
Sunita (name changed) has been associated with Mehar for the past two years. Due to an alcoholic and abusive husband, Sunita had to undergo a harsh separation from him. Left without any aid or support, Mehar came to her rescue by providing her with clothes and shelter. We got her a job and helped her stand on her feet. Today she is an independent woman working and taking care of herself without any aid. Her husband, during this period, had moved on with another woman. Two years later after realizing his mistake he came back to her and asked her to be with him. But now Sunita who knows his true colors wants a legal separation from him. She approached Harita Mehta for help who without wasting a second got her a lawyer and has started working on her case. She plans to relieve Sunita of her worries as soon as possible.
There was a girl, Sushila(name changed) whose husband recently lost his job. This led to pent up frustration and drinking became a daily affair. When Sushila tried to intervene and stop him from doing this, he ended up beating her. When the family and neighbours weren’t able to provide a solution, Sushila registered a complaint with Mehar. We took her in, listened to her story and took immediate steps to help her out of her misery. Harita Mehta handled this case in a professional manner with a personal touch. She set up a separate meeting with her husband & in-laws only to discuss the situation with them. She counseled the family in a positive direction, making them realize what all they had been missing as a family and all the good times they spent together. She went on to explain Sushila’s family about the charges that Sushila could have filed against them but instead how she took help from us and discussed her situation with us. She brought positivity in the family by providing a change in their mind-set. To solve the problem permanently she took excessive pains in finding a job for the husband only to make him realize it was all because of his dutiful wife.
